Talk to your pain!!

Yes I know sounds crazy, but changing our inner dialogue can help calm our nervous system.

Inner talk that is calming, kind, reassuring, can calm the nervous system & reduce the pain.

The more we allow our pain to take over, the more we can feel it. Therefore give yourself a break, talk calmly to yourself, show yourself understanding & help the pain reduce.

You can talk directly to the pain by giving yourself a pep talk.

Say things such as:

  • i hear & feel you, I accept that there is pain, but I’m not going to let it take over my life
  • I need to take a breath & calm myself, so the pain will reduce & make me more comfortable
  • I know the pain is there, but I won’t tolerate it anymore. This pain has NO power over me.
  • Or you could just be super harsh with it & shout out loud for it to F-OFF, I’m done with this pain & I’m ready to get on with my day without it

It’s good to have as many different tools as you can to help reduce pain & live a more comfortable life.
