It’s so important to protect yourself & wellbeing, especially in this overwhelming & crazy world.
Setting emotional boundaries can really help protect yourself. By setting these boundaries it gives us power in our lives, knowing what we will & won’t accept from ourselves & others.
Here are some of the ways I protect myself;
- Be aware of my emotions & what triggers me, so i can realise when i am feeling uncomfortable & over extended. I love to do a body scan to see where I’m holding any tensions & then I use the breath to breathe in & release the tension.
- Reframing my negative thoughts from the negative to positive, affirmations can really help with reframing the mind & situation.
- Becoming aware of how my body reacts in an uncomfortable situation, if I start to feel uncomfortable I focus on my breath to help me ascertain my strength in difficult moments.
- When I feel the stresses & strains of life, I find it important to move my body, getting into flow state with Qigong, it has been a perfect practice for me too get out of my head & into my heart.
- I have started to express my needs & be open about how I am feeling. It’s hard to let those barriers down, but people are able to help & support you more if you are open & confident with what you need from them, this can help improve your relationship with yourself & those around you.
- Journalling is such a positive way to support mental & emotional health, it’s enables us to get all those emotions out & onto paper, releasing what is inside& letting it go.
- Protecting my energy has also been important to protect my energetic space. By envisioning a protective bubble around me it has really supported to keep the negative away & to protect my emotional & energetic boundaries.
- Therapy has been a beautiful experience, helping me to find guidance & tools to deal with my emotions, the medical trauma, the triggers. It takes time, but having a safe space to explore your feelings can help you move more comfortably into the future.
Don’t be afraid to put you & your needs first, it’s so important to help heal in mind & body.
